      Hi,

Is anyone able to identify the maker of this engine?p9221245.jpg

      p9221243.jpg

I bought this about 20 years ago as is and would like to try and acquire a set of drawings for it if possible.

Hope someone is able to help.

      Regards

      Steve

Given the size of the engine I'm more inclined to say it is one of the many "workshop" engines that were produced rather than an actual model and would have been used to drive a small piece of equipment.

Not convinced that the flywheel is original and it would have been mounted off to one side not in teh space for the crank. Do you have the rest of the parts?

Agree with Jason – small working engine, used to power all sorts from dynamos to sewing machines. You wont find drawings specifically for that item but making your own is very simple. Im on the lookouf for a project like that so if you decide to move it on please let me know.

If you've not seen it already Jim Nic posted pictures of a similar engine (it's a common layout) in the Workshop Thread here. His version has a regulator and other refinements, but they're often made in basic form.

Example photo from Jim's post. You can see what goes where.

                Hi All,

I have seen workshop engines but assumed that this was too small to be one as the bore is only 2 3/8 diameter. Guess ill have the pleasure of designing the missing bits myself.

Whats in the picture is all thats there, the flywheel was just put inside the webs out of the way.

I will look at other engines for ideas.

Jason, if I decide to sell it on I will let you know. I do have other projects kicking around, not models so I have plenty to keep me busy.

                Cheers

                Steve
