Model engines at the Sydney Antique Machinery club Rally, 2015
A great display of antique steam engines, cars, trucks and machinery was a collection of working model engines, including a Galloway Hit & Miss engine, driving a full size watch makers lathe with Action Man at the controls.
Half scale model of a 1911 Domestic engine driving a small grinder.
Engine spec. 1hp, Low tension ignition, side camshaft
Thanks for thaose Paul, though the Galloway looks to be a bit of an oddball/hybrid. Possibly an Assoc Hired Man frame with a scratch built cylinder/hopper.
I do not have the history of the model but an interesting display of little engines. I did like the little lathe. Thought it was a model at first but was informed it is full size.
The only thing is the action man is at the back of the lathe
Roy
As the hit & miss engines all tend to run clockwise as viewed in the photo the action man is on the correct size for using a hand graver on the rest as the lathe is running in reverse.
I don't really like "littel men" on a model but they do give Joe puplic an idea of scale.
The Domestic side shaft engine in the picture has the logo of the builder (Regimoto), he has a interesting web site of all the engines he has built. Here
Mike.
