Just a very brief note from me to say a heart felt thank you to all who have taken the trouble to post messages of good wishes as I take on the role of Editor of Model Engineer. I have kept a low profile (as is my wont) on the other threads but be assured I read them all and appreciate each and every one. Thank you also to the many who have sent me emails and phoned me. It has all been very heartening. Some of you have high hopes and some have, dare I say, high expectations. Indeed, most of you – with the odd exception – seem to believe I might make a decent job of it.

Feel free to contact me any time with ideas and suggestions. Think of the editorial office door as being ever ajar and don't be afraid to pop your head round and shout at me. To my mind, it is your magazine; I am simply here to look after it for a while. So here goes…
