When I was editing Model Engineer, the advertising/ layout department decided to put adverts into the body of the magazine. I had complaints from everywhere.

All said we want to bind Model Engineer and we don’t want adverts in our bound volumes. So I got management to knock it on the head.

No more complaints. Now I see in the latest issue that there is an advert in the body of Model Engineer.

It will be interesting to see if the editor gets complaints this time around?

That might have been to give a definite break between two major articles, but I hope they don’t make a habit of it.

Knowing that paid for adverts keep this forum free, and keep the price of the 2 ME mags down I don’t have an issue. Putting an advert to pad out the page when an article doesn’t seems more sensible than the habit of another magazine that puts the tail end of an article away from the rest to cope with the same issue. A much prefer the added adverts to disjointed articles.
