Model Engineering Display in Devon

Hi all

The North Devon Model Engineering Society will be exhibiting at the Chappleton Vintage Rally near Umberleigh , North Devon on the 19th and 20th of September.

We have a large display of Stiring and Hot Air engines and Internal Combustion engines all running throughout the show. If you are in the area please come along and say hello. We are a small club and are always looking for new members.

Hi Engine builder, Is the site the one that is adjacent to the Chapelton Railway Station

on the A377 Barnstaple to Exeter Road ?

If it is there is a sawmill nearby and their post code for sat nav is EX379DZ

Yes thats the one Lyric. The post code is correct. The site is at Chapelton Barton , Umberleigh nr Barnstaple. The sawmill is Chapelton Sawmill.

                               Thanks for the reply.

I have been talking to the lads at Exeter and they seem to think it is probably the best show of Working  IC and Stirling Engines in the country.

I hope they are right as I shall be attending on the Sunday and hope to make your acquaintance.

I don’t think you will be disapointed. At most exhibitions you do not see model IC and stirling engines running continously. Be sure to make yourself known. I’m the youngest one there!

I was not disapointed , It was as good as you said it would be.

I wish I lived nearer to Barnstaple as I found your club members to be very friendly.

It was refreshing to see a model engineering exhibition with not a single locomotive !
