      Hi

I noticed that this survey has been put on this web page, which suggests that David is keen to get replies.

Why oh why is it not in a format that can be filled in on line?

          Hi Keith
It is because we already have the form in PDF format and no time or budget to set up an online form.
I may be able to do an online form but not until January when the Exhibition is over.
          regards David

            HI David,
I was wondering if there is another survey for your overseas subscribers. Surveys reach their maximum potential when they are filled out in their entirety. Living in Australia, I probably won’t be attending any of the model engineering exhibitions you have enquired about and if I did you would have to include jet as one of the public transport options. There are other questions not relevant to overseas subscribers as well so I was wondering if it is because we are only a small number and not considered to have much of an impact on the format of MEW. Kind of like paying for the subscription after looking at the special subscription offer then reading that it is not available to overseas subscribers…but we have still paid for the subscription and I can assure you I will be paying it again when they are due next year. Am getting tons of information, tips and ideas.
Hope I am not being too harsh as I noticed you get a lot of flack on here and that is not my intention
            Regards,
            Phil

                Hi Phil
                No, just the one survey.
Many UK readers don’t go to exhibitions so results won’t be much different.
                regards David

If the survey could be filled in on the web whats to stop non readers from filling it in. Surely the whole point of a READERS survey is that its filled in by people who have bought the mag either by subscription or other means.

It would be possible for subscribers to fill in on line by making submission available by entering subs number which would make it easier for overseas subscribers, but then it could not be filled in by casual buyers.

If people feel that strongly about being able to complete the survey why not print it off, fill it in and send a scan back to David by e-mail.

Maybe a third survey is required for website members?

                    Hi There
I have had a few scanned surveys back, about 5 or 6.
I will be aware that any surveys printed on paper or scanned from now onwards may not be from readers but website members.
                    regards David

JasonB’s suggestion works great, just make sure the scan file sizes are not too large or David’s email will reject them without sending an error message back to you (made that mistake!) .

I have noticed there is no way to indicate the fact that you are a “Digital Only” or Paper subscriber. The answers could be different for both options.

Also there seems to be no questions about the Digital Edition. i.e Quality of printed pages/drawings.

                          Thanks David (Clark),
I will print the survey out, fill in the relevant questions, then scan and email the results as in australia we wont be receiving the hard copy for a cpouple of months yet and the survey would probably be finished and the results collated. Aah, the Tyranny of Distance.

I will be doing that anyway. My point was the validity of the questions not relevant to us overseas subscribers.

                          Regards,
