ML7 ‘Stop Peg’?

Hello, I've just joined the ME forum recently after a hankering for a decent lathe resulted in the purchase of a 1971 vintage ML7. I've found lots of useful stuff in the forums already, so my very grateful thanks to previous contributors!

I bought the lathe from the engineer of a charity who has taken ownership of the lathe when H&S assessments were deemed by the charity to be too onerous for a seldom used piece of equipment. Not too late for some modifications to be made to the lathe however!

One mod in particular was the replacement of the swing head pin (just above the eccentric pin & lever) with one approx. 6 inches longer. I assume this was for the fitting of a chuck guard, though one was not fitted when I bought the machine. Happy to be corrected if anyone knows of another purpose?

The longer pin prevented the eccentric lever form operating, which is probably why short belts had been fitted, effectively restricting the lathe to a single speed.

Anyway, I've reversed all of that to take it back to standard, but the one part I need to resolve is the 'Stop Pin' that screws into the collar on the eccentric shaft.

I was going to make one but all I know about it is in the Myford.co.uk exploded parts diagram (Motorising Assembly) where it's listed as; F36 70/1326 Stop Peg. I think the thread is 1/4 inch BSF, but can anyone tell me how long it should be and the diameter? Also, how it terminated – a straight slot for a screwdriver would make sense, or does it have flats? A photo would be great.

Stop peg is 0.834" long with a 0.25" long 0.25" BSF thread, screwdriver slot is 0.0625" deep.
