Sandown Park will be my first Exhibition I will be attending without Myford.
Been going for years (Dad, brother and son) and at each Myford stand we all drool over the equipment and admire the superb finish.
I have an early ML7 which serves me well with a lot of accessories including the Mill attachment but I used to really enjoy their stand – it will be missed.

It was certainly a must visit stand for us Super 7 owners. I nearly always ended up buying some new accessory. However, it seems the Myford name may still be well represented at the show. There’s at least one exhibitor who has stocks of genuine Myford spares (while stocks last) plus the promise of spares and accessories continuing to me manufactured by the new owners.

Hello Bob, How do they justify that price indeed, must think it’s a rarity!

I think it’s a typo that went unnoticed until it was too late to change it.

The rarity appears to be the price he’s asking.

                    Hi Chris,

It’s always possible to change item details until 48 hours before the end of the sale / auction. As this was a ‘Buy it Now’ and ‘Make an Offer’ sale the seller was probably trying to drive up offers of which there had been 6 when I looked- 5 had been declined.

                    Regards

The problem for Myford is too many of us lokked and thought ‘one day I might be able to afford a second-hand one’, bought chinese and fed our families…

My offer of £100 was declined Strange really as it was closer to reality than £12000

The 12000 UK pound price is simply insane for any lathe of this size regardless of make. I’d be very surprised if you couldn’t find 10 used but serviceable industrial lathes of this size or bigger in the UK at any given time for less than 1000-1500 UK pounds per lathe, if you scour the ads in ME and look on the web.

That 12,000 price sticker is just to keep it on Ebay so the best offers can be sorted out.
Once a bid is made the best offer and buy it now disappears and that’s not going to happen on a 12K bid.
It’s just one way of using Ebay rules to your advantage.

I contacted him and asked if he was serious – said it was wrong and should be £1200!!

                                Told you. Typo.

You can’t change the listing once an offer or a bid is made. You can only add additional text. The original text on which the bids were made remain intact so the seller can’t shift the goal posts after an offer goes in.
