MEW 217 arrived yesterday, and is proving an excellent read

I would particularly like to congratulate both Author and Editor upon the three page article "Turning with the Milling Machine" … I think this exemplifies the concise style of article that many of us were asking for.

Hi, I haven't read this artical yet, but when I browesd through the mag yesterday I thought it looks like a very interesting artical.

I was taken by the cover photo of the Blacker Power Hammer model, I've seen this before and is an excelent representation of a full size machine, including the anvil. I've used one of these machines when I was 16/17 in my very first job after leaving school and they are very powerfull, yet with a skilled operator can give the gentlest taps you could imagine.

          Regards Nick.

Didn't realise it was out, that's my evening now sorted.

Spotted at least 3 articles that fit the bill nicely.

              I liked it too…
Already a detectable change of style.

I'm glad you are enjoying the read.

I found a missing picture from John M. Smith's mandrel article today in a large box of papers passed on to me. It had got separated from the electronic version of the article and John didn't have a second copy, a shame as it's a nice 'work in progress' pic, with real swarf! It shows the between centres mandrel in use. Here it is:
