Very nice CAD work Neil, looks great. Are you planning a 3D printed model?

Interesting place on the original for air inlets to the kompressor stage (if that's what the fuselage slots are). The square front cockpit panel might cause some "interesting" kompressor stalls under some conditions of "flare" type flight attitude . Maybe "flare" attitude was verboten in the flight rules…

Always liked the look of V tails. Not sure about the control with them, though, compared to normal elevator / rudder tails.

Did the original aircraft have a whacking great cannon in the nose?

It could be a fair bit better, I have a lot to learn. It's all one 'part' rather than being an assembly. I may try and print it, but it will have to be broken down into parts.

The annular intake was devised by Dr Sghard Hoemer were originally on a design with straight wings and extra wingtip engines (In have an article here…). It had a nose cannon and a stereo periscope for the prone pilot!

The third version had conventional tail feathers and side intakes near the trailing edge… makes a Lockheed shooting star look old-fashioned! They all only exist as sketch plans, but the last two have nose-mounted cannon.

Barrie – subscriptions are cheaper but we prefer having regular readers! I used to get Aeromodeller in the days when it was the last fading bastion of free flight.

Have you read Aeromodeller since Andrew Boddington has been the editor? it is the best it has been since the glory days, there are also serious free flight articles but no RC.

To be honest, when I got into model engineering my interest in planes dropped away. I do have a few I need to get flying again, including a KK ladybird made by my father in law in 1957 I got flying again in around 2000 with a DC Merlin.

I've added an undercarriage to the P1110 in #Alibre Atom3D, and improved the canopy. I've used Simshot to do a rough and ready render. #CAD #MEW #YoE.
