When I try to add a link or an image by clicking the icons the active window goes foggy as several others have said elsewhere can something be done about that.

I'm on IE9 and Vista.

Also just tried to add a reply from my phone and all I get is a rectangular box to type the reply into with no icons at all. (HTC)

Hi Jason, make sure you're not using Compatibility view in IE, as that was a work-around required for the old editor, but you don't need to do so with the new one. It's working fine for me in IE9, I'm using Windows 7 though, but would imagine it would work in the same way.

Jason, from devices which don't support the full-blown text editor, like some phones, you should instead see a normal text input box. You can't add in special formatting or anything, but it should enable you to at least get a plain-text posting in, if you need to post before you get back to your proper computer.

Dont beat yourself over it. I am guessing that the accounts probably included the implementation costs (human labor) when they gave you the figures.

Hi everyone, I have tried to follow the discution and now totally baffled. Being not computer literate I am lost. If the people , who obviously know what they are talking about , are unable to operate the system ,how are us lesser mortals going to fare.I have had problems in working the system and have asked my daughter ,who works on computors all day ,to help me, but to no availe.Please make it a bit easier to understand.Iam on WINDOWS XP whatever that is. So the image tool is broken, the image is distorted.

With the old editor if you clicked on a linked image it expanded and filled the screen.

With the new editor nothing…….

Just took off compatability view and I can now get the icons to work

BUT

It has now made john Mac's images distorted, they were OK when comp view was on.

 

Can't see his pics at all now.

The source file for that image is 3MB High Resolution

I stored it on mediafire as a Live link

A user should be able to click on it and see the high resolution image.

John,

To avoid the resizing thing happening, this is what I did:

1. Click on Image button
2. Paste the URL into the URL box and then press tab or click into another field, so that the system goes and fetches the image and puts it into the preview box
3. Click into the Width box and type in 350. This will automatically adjust the height accordingly
4. If you want to add in a link to the image, click on the Link tab and paste the URL into the URL box on that tab too
5. Click OK

Not a good idea. the system should default to the correct size.

As the previous system did.

If someone wants to see a bigger image then they can double click the image.

If you simply ise the link tab and nothing else the image is correctly downsized and it enlarges when you click it.

As I said earlier, we are working on a tweak for image inserting, so that we can cap the size like the previous editor did.

What format does a MediaFire link look like? Could you do me a favour and try pasting one in using the YouTube embed button for me please?
