I find myself in possession of this curious device:

I can’t even pretend to understand why it carries a ‘Best Use Before’ date !

If it is likely to be of use to anyone, I will happily list it in the Classifieds

… in the fine old tradition of Exchange & Mart, I would prefer to avoid the vulgarity of £ and so ask ‘what have you’ for exchange ?

The Becker Map Pilot is a portable navigation system that integrates into the infotainment system of some Mercedes-Benz vehicles. It provides detailed navigation, route planning, and mapping services, similar to a GPS system, but is specifically designed to seamlessly work with the vehicle’s existing technology. It’s a compact unit that plugs into the car, typically in a compartment, and interacts with the vehicle’s central display screen.

Some key features of the Becker Map Pilot in a Mercedes-Benz car include:

Navigation: Offers turn-by-turn directions with real-time traffic updates.
High-Resolution Maps: Detailed mapping with points of interest, roads, and landmarks.
User Interface: Works with the vehicle’s central display and control knobs or touchpad, offering an intuitive interface.
Route Planning: It allows for route planning, with options to avoid toll roads, set destinations, or plan stops.
The system was particularly popular for Mercedes-Benz vehicles that didn’t come with a built-in navigation system but still wanted to offer the convenience of high-quality navigation. It was designed to be easy to install and use, offering a seamless integration with the car’s dashboard.

… and obviously  out of my league
        🙁
