One thing to note with these Digital Content Creation platforms is that they use mesh modelling to create objects, and this comes with dimensional approximations which are not present with 3D CAD programs. You can model something e.g. an engine, but you won’t be able re-create that exactly in reality and be sure that it will fit together (this is mainly a problem with curved surfaces); you could certainly produce a satisfactory .stl file to make a pattern for casting though, and this might be easier than using CAD.
