Martek Professional drill grinding jig

I have just purchased (from Ebay) a Martek professional drill grinding jig. From one of our Society members I obtained a photocopy of the instruction leaflet.

 

However, I follow the instructions, I always seem to get a negative (i.e. reversed) clearance angle. Excellent for creating heat, but not for cutting metal!

 

Any ideas on where I’m going wrong?

I don’t know about the professional one but I’ve got the ordinary one and it does exactly the same thing , only on one edge tho.

 

I’ve taken it to pieces and studied it till I’m sick of the thing and it still doesn’t work.

 

so if anyone has an answer I’m all ears as well.

Hi richard,

I had an ordiary one of those,Drill sharpeners of the same name i spent

most of a weekend trying to get it to perform as it was suposed to in the

event i wasted my time,And the folowing weekend it was put in with the

junk for the car boot,(Did anyone out there buy it)The only alterative i had

to give it to someone i didnt like, But i decided against that,Time is short

and preciouse, Quit while your ahead,Bin it!,
