boring tools.jpgHave finally stopped making tooling for my new machines and started on the next model. Its a version of Jon Bogstandards "Paddleduck" only its half as big again (15mm dia. pistons). I am also modifying the design to use ball races for the crankshaft bearings. I thought this simple engine would be a good project that will allow me to get used to the new lathe and mill.

I have included a photo which shows off my newly acquired Swiss Kaiser 65mm boring head – it's jig boring the two cylinder bores in the main engine block for "Paddleduck". I "nicked" the boring head from a well known auction site recently when the vendor failed to describe it accurately. It came with all the tooling (second photo). I won't say what I paid for it – you'll only cry!

Congratulations Rik, the boring head looks very nice. It would be interesting to hear more about your "Paddleduck" build. May be some drawings and photos as the projects progresses.
