Lost my photos on new forum.

With the new forum where has my photos on gallery gone there is none on it now.

However, you will find all your old posts are still available and where you added photo’s to threads you will be able to see them

There was a message from Jason before the old site went to say albums would not be moved onto the new site.

There is an archived copy of the old site (thanks to Journeyman for pointing this out) and I have had a look and your albums are there. May not be up to date as it says the site was archived in July.

There is a possible workaround, which may or may not be successful.
archive.org may, or may not, have archived some of your albums.

Try this as a general method;

I used it successfully to find an album on archive.org

First I searched through my own posts for one where I know that I’d directed people to an album

Log on to the new forum;
Profile > Forums > Topics Started – Search “Topics Started”
In my case I knew to search for “Chuck” as I’ve been practicing this technique

This was the post/thread I chose for this example;

Stars added to break the hyperlink on this forum, so you can see what it should look like before it converts to the shortcut below.

The “HERE” hyperlink in the displayed post fails as the album has not been transferred over to the new forum, although the one photo from the album is still showing OK in the post on the new forum.

Right click the failed hyperlink and “Copy Link Address”.

Paste into the search box on archive.org and hope for the best.

In this case, it worked for me.

N.B. Copying the URL for the displayed picture in that post, and entering it into archive.org won’t help, as that points to the single photo on the new forum, not the location in the album on the old one.
