This forums server has suddenly got very slow to respond, starting yesterday. What changed? Can it be fixed?

This site is running v-e-r-y slowly on the iPad

Oddly, when I started typing this my text was appearing in a monospaced font … but it then it flipped to normal

I’m having the same slow load problems on my pc Windows 11/Firefox.  It only started this morning, following a Firefox update to Ver. 135.0, so I assumed it was that that did it.  Maybe not ……

A strange blue panel, which I am unable to remove, is present towards the top of the page.  Seen here highlighted by the red arrow:

I’ve also noticed that any reply made lately initially appears in an unusual font, but clicking on the displayed page makes it revert to “normal” font.  Weird.

Edit.  Coming back to edit and insert the picture, above, replicated the font issue mentioned by Michael Gilligan earlier.
