Can anyone suggest a suitable white, hard faced board to replace my old fashioned push up and slide back loft hatch cover as, after some 45 years, I no longer have the enthusiasm to paint it. Again.

Why not use plastic fascia or T & G, its light and is insulated

Better still replace the whole thing with an insulated plastic one, saves direct heat loss and as they also have a seal around the edge no loss through gaps.

Bonus is the plastic frame won’t need painting either.

Stick a piece of white-faced hardboard on it?

Painted the one I made 31 years ago. I might paint it again when I redecorate the hall and landing. 😀

White face hardboard or furniture board, with a slab of insulation on the top?
