Hi All, I have at long last decided to renovate an old steam loco which my dad had when I was a wee boy. I don’t know how old it is well before 1950’s!!
coach work is shot to bits so I am working with fragments and pics found on internet to redraw the foot plate area etc.

I’ve spent some time trying to find info but not very successful. Any ideas where I can get really small screws from for the slide valve linkage at the drive wheel.

I’ve got one of a pair of screws as a guide but not sure which threads are used.

screw O/A length is 7mm, thread O/ D approx 1.2 mm, thread length 6mm with a slotted dome head. ( presuming it is actually “old money” imperial but only got mm calliper to hand) Any suggestions please on any of the above,

          Hi Alan

          Threads 1.2mm (0.047" ) o/d are 13 BA size.
          Nice, small and fiddly.

            Thanks for that Dennis.

Any suggestions of where I can get assorted packs of Tiny BA screws?

            Cheers

            Alan

If it's a proper stork's leg it is probably not British made, and Brevete in the thread title suggests it is French – so probably not BA threads although they may be close enough.

Hi Redsetter, thanks for that. Yes I now believe it to be a French Carette 1 gauge passenger locomotive live steam stork leg. I also believe it to be 1902 -06 from internet.

So, next question, any one got knowledge of which threads were used by Carette. Worn threads are quite difficult to identify especially when they are that small!!

                Cheers
