I bought the little Hogger set of carbide tooling many years ago. Getting triangular inserts for the facing tool has been problematic in the past. After chipping an insert I couldn’t help noting the insert looked about the same size as the TNMG1604 turning inserts I use on my lathe. Obviously I can’t recommend you use these for safety reasons but I found they fit the little Hogger just fine and I’ve just made some light cuts on aluminium alloy with a TNMG1604 that’s probably intended for turning steel, and the surface finish was surprisingly good. Luckily I had some longer M3.5 x 12mm Torx screws as the ones supplied with the Hogger are too short for these much thicker inserts. TNMG1604’s can be obtained quite cheaply online if you don’t already use them. Having 6 cutting tips they are quite good value.
