Leadscrew nut material

What are the preferences for material for making leadscrew nuts from?
I'd like to make new one for my Ajax mill's Y axis which has been bastardised…..Its been cut with a BSW thread which Im sure isnt original….

The material used looks like Phos B…..but to buy a piece the same size is going to be a kings ransom….

How about cast iron? ( meehanite? )

There are lots of options

delrin,bronze,p-b, aluminium,cast iron,white metal,brass

Can't find it at the moment but I think there is a youtube by Doubleboost where he machines a milling machine nut. First of all he casually walks out the back door and casts a bronze bar to make it from. Scrap bronze is only £5 a kilo so a bit cheaper than buying the nice drawn bar.
