      Hi There
MyHobbyStore and Model Engineer has purchased the copyright to all of the LBSC locomotive designs.

I would like to obtain reasonably clean copies of Virginia, Speedy, Princess Marina and Maisie. They need to be the original MAP versions, not the latest copies. Reasonable price paid.
      regards David

Hi David, I don’t have a set of drawings, but somewhere here I have the book for Virginia, which I think was published by MAP. I also have the copies of ME with the “Words and Music” for Virginia and Maisie, but you can probably get access to those closer than where I am. The book will of course be basicaly the same as what was in the magazine in the first place.

          regards
          John

            Hi David,

I am sure I have a complete set of unused drawings for Virginia which I purchased from MAP in around 1978 or 79 ish.

I’ll hunt them out tomorrow and get back to you asap.

                Hi David,

I cannot help with the three locos you have mentioned, but I have the set of a little known 1 gauge? loco by “Ole Curley”. It is a Pacific and is called Sir Morris de Cowley. (I used to live there). I also have several little pot-boilers that LBSC used to design in time to be made for Christmas.  They can come in the same package.

If you want them I will pack it up and send it

                Best Regards

David I think that the preservation of LBSC’s designs is a bloody good move.
pat on the back to whoever had the idea to do it.

I’ve just finished reading the MAP book on Speedy. is the info in the book sufficient for what you seek? We have it in the club library.

                            Hi David
Re Sir Morris de Cowley it is actualy ‘0’ gauge – Found it!  It is on 5 sheeta of A3.  Although I bought it from MAP when it was part of Argus Press – Owned by Rediffusion- for whom I worked and got a discount-  the drawings are marked Kennion Bros (Hertford)  copyright L.B.S.C.  Is this O.K?.  If so I will hunt up the other bits and bobs and post them this week end.
Postage will be in HuFs and donated to REMAP.
                            Best Regards

Hi David,  I have a Princess Marina book published by “Mechanics” plus sheets 1 to 5 of Reeves drawings for that loco – no tender drawing sheet.  You are quite welcome to these if they are of any help.

Unfortunately I dont have drawings to offer.  But can I ask, what are the plans for the erm plans when they have been collated? Someone was bound to ask to some point so it may as well have been me!

In a 1989 ME I saw a comment that the Princess Marina plans were lacking in detail and someone was seeking the construction manual. Sound’s like Colin’s manual will be very helpful.

I've been reading the series on Roedean, its a great read. Being new to this hobby, I haven't read LBSC before. He seems to be a caracter, like Sparey, totally focused on a good job done efficently. Since the articles are so old there are few (none) photos, and I have realised how much value they really are. He had to "compensate" with good writing skills back then!
