Lathe height?

Having recently aquired a Chester Comet with reccommended stand, I am surprised to find the working height of the lathe is only 1metre(spindle height).

This seems a little low to me(I am 5’7”).

Are there any reccommendations for the correct height?

Hi There

Elbow height to cross slide handwheel height.

Bend elbow, you should be able to turn cross slide with arm horizontal.
