I read the post about late delivery of subscriptions and have waited for the 4393 issue

Today with the publication date of 4394 I called hobbystore to ask for a copy of 4393 to be sent out only to be told that there are no copies available

What now?

How do I get a copy of the missing issue?

How long should I wait for the non delivery of 4394?

Adverse weather MAY have plaed a part in the issues gone missing but a thread similar to this on the exact subject was opened by me way before christmas and after a few posts was closed suddenly by the administrator, weather IS NOT a factor in the non delivery of 4394 so what is?

Well, at last, MEW 172 has arrived, along with xmas cards etc. some posted first week in Dec., so I reckon the weather was a  big factor. Not quite January, so in time.

I noticed that ME 4394 is on sale in my local WHS.

I buy ME and MEW from the local branch of WHS, they always seem to be available on the date advertised in the magazines, irrespective of weather.

I buy both M.E and MEW from a local town centre newsagency, the mag’s always arrive when due, even during the recent bad weather, and think I will continue doing so judging by the subscription based delivery And, even though not a postal problem, the digital issue access hassles.

 

I subscribe to an IT magazine (fortnightly) and a (Monthly) Classic Car publication, without exception these have both arrived bang on time And via Royal Mail all through the bad weather.

We have also had several packages delivered by Royal Mail from both eBay sellers and Amazon, and not one has gone astray, although a few letters took about 7 days to arrive – by contrast, one from France took just 3 days! (although as some unfortunate souls would disagree that all French letters are so reliable)

 

So, from where I sit, the problem is Not all at the door of Royal Mail !

 

Personally I’d like to Thank David for allowing this thread to remain, as I’m sure many others – like me wavering on buying a subscription, will now be thinking twice until the publishers get their house in order.

I had the option of a subscription to M.E rather than the Classic Car mag (SWIMBO’s annual treat for me), but I don’t wan the ‘agg’ of chasing poor suppliers and missing issues that are no longer in stock, I stuck with what I know and what works.

Missing issues no longer in stock are someones error.

The subscription house and MyHobbyStore have sufficient copies to cover any missing issues, over 150 copies between them.

The subscription house keeps them for three months and MyHobbyStore until sold out.

Someone somewhere is misinforming readers.

We have many thousand subscribers to both magazines.

Inevitably there will ocasionally be a problem with a subscription and this will normally be sorted within a couple of working days.

Issue 172 still not arrived in Phalaborwa South Africa.

In the past year, it arrived about 7 days after the date mentioned in the previous issue.

Taking the weather, cancelled flights in concideration. It should have been here by Friday, up to this morning no MEW in post.

I think it is fair to say if it they do not arrive by this Friday 7th January 2011, they must be deemd LOST and our subscriptions extended appropriately.  There is also the matter of ME4394 to consider. No bad weather excuse on this one!

We use something called Royal Mail Press stream I think which implies Royal Mail all the way.

I suspect Royal Mail will clear backlog before delivering next magazine 4394.

Some readers have received 4394 so it is out there.

It went to press early because of Christmas.

4395 has already gone to printers.

The editorial team is on time.
