Has anyone had any experience of dealing with http://www.steamech.com.It is  acompany in New Zealand who,among other activities,supply laser cut small components for model parallel marine steam engine.And does anyone know a source of supply of the aforementioned in the UK?

Hi David, had a look in the phoe book and the yellow pages, no steamech, Idon’t get into Christchurch very often, if I do I could ask at one or two of the model shops, but don’t hold your breath waiting. Perhaps one of the town modelers knows a bit more.Ian S C

Maybe try Model Engineers laser for laser cutting in the UK – clicky linky .

 

As you can see parts can be cut to drawings as required.

With them quoting 7$ US for worldwide airfrieght it hardly seems worth trying to source the parts elsewhere.

If you did go to the likes of ME Lazer you would have to produce all the drawings in a suitable file format which is a lot of time to save postage.(well you will probably also have to pay vat and post office fee)
