After having John Wilding's clock running for a while now, my wife suggested that the face looked out of proportion! So I copied the excellent Clickspring's bezel that he made for his clock.

            Thank you lfoggy.

Recessed the back to take the dial, then mounted it horizontally on the dividing head and cut 120deg 'V' s with a boring head. If you like, I can post exact details.

When I saw this in Clicksprings video I was quite frankly blown away. Such an effective design, that just looks fantastic.

              Great job on yours David

Excellent work, but not sure it's to my taste. But then I'm not a fan of ornate clocks I'm sure you like lots. I'd like to see it on the clock to really tell though.

                regards Martin

David, if you could post details that would be great. Will try and find the video you are referring to as well.

It looks like you made it out of stainless, is that right? Also can't tell from the picture how big it is.

I have the clock in bits at the moment for a few modifications so I'll try to remember to post a photo' when it's back together.

                          Hello Ifoggy, It's 100mm i.d. and 130mm o.d. made from CZ120 engraving brass.

I emailed Chris at Clickspring and he very generously sent me this reply:-

                          "Hi David,

No problem at all – The cutter is fairly straight forward, just a 120 degree apex swept through an arc of radius 9mm. I indexed approximately 170 to 180, but I don't recall exactly what I used. You will find the DOC by experimentation, as the valleys begin to interset at a nice peak.

                          Best wishes with it!

                          Cheers, Chris. "

There were a few problems to overcome such as releasing the bezel from the wax chuck without using heat which would have discoloured the brass. I found that acetone dissolved the superglue quite well.

                          Any questions, please ask.

                          David
