My phone (Sony Xperia summat running Android KitKat 4.4) used to talk to my XP laptop via USB fine enough, but now I've got a win10 machine the phone isn't recognised. I can transfer files using Airdroid, but Airdroid seems to present a view of my phone's filesystem on the computer screen which is different from what I see on the phone itself. It's doing me head in!

Is there any way of just seeing a Unix-style filesystem with this combination of hard/software? It would be so much simpler.

Obviously not on -topic for this website, but maybe OK for tea-room?

      Rob.

Thanks Cyril – sorted now by looking at your links. I'm surprised that W10 has provision to run Linux as a subsystem.
