      Hi I am trying to find a detailed description of this clock .It is built into a tower at the Killruddery estate in Ireland .I know there was an article about it in a 1980s Horological journal but can find no trace of it, can anyone help me locate it .Thanks Mike

          I do remeber seeing the HJ article, but sorry, I don't think I have it to hand.

                    Michael, thanks for that, just what I need for a project I'm thinking about! Also similar to a clock in the Liverpool museum I think that Philip Woodward describes in My Own Right time that is driven by a continuously rotating disc powered by a falling weight regulated by a conical pendulum governer.

                      The device in Liverpool Museum is amazing, and very beautiful.

                      Sadly; due to funding cuts, it is no longer running, and is very poorly lit

                      It was built by Bond, in the USA and was 'improved' whilst at the Liverpool Observatory.
