Just purchased a lot of stuff

Well, following on from my query before about imperial for a metric mind where I mentioned a “bundle”. Well I purchased it yesterday. I won’t say how much for just yet. It’s quite sad really, Mr Harvey recently went into a home with dementia and his family were going to bin it but his grandson-in-law used to be a toolmaker and advertised it on Facebook. The top drawer had his pay slips and holiday requests going back to the late 50s. It looks like he retired in 2000. This must be a big chunk of 40+ years work.

I’ll be honest I have no idea what 50% of it is for, more perhaps, but I’ll learn.

Pictures number one and two of it laid out – It’s going to take me hours just to get it all into some sort of order. Many more pictures to follow.

99% of that is usable in any language, only a couple of imperial items.

What a wonderful comprehensive selection of Toolmakers equipment, obviously built up over many years but has been unfortunately neglected as the owner struggled. I have a very similar collection which I am starting to dispose of bit by bit, hardly any market for this sort of stuff these days as all the big manufacturing companies have gone east so Toolmakers are not so plentiful.

So glad they weren’t binned and that you have taken an interest!!

Just wait..it came with two engineers cabinet and earlier I got a 60cm by about 160cm filing cabinet with 11 drawers for £10. It’s swallowing up stuff already.

I don’t want to keep it all by the way. I’m certain there’s things here I will never use that maybe someone else needs.

Almost too much to list!

But all looks to be useable, and good stuff.

Vernier Calliper, Depth Mic, Depth Gauge, drills, Taps, Dies, Tap Wrenches, Die Holders, Mics, Scribing blocks, V blocks, Angle Plates, Sine bars, LOTS!

You will be MOST comprehensively set up.

Think very carefully before disposing of anything.  It might “come in handy, one day”, even the duplicates
