Jupiter and Venus

Popped out for a fag a moment ago, and saw 2 aircraft with landing lights close together , coming into Gatwick ….low in the western sky. In 5 minutes they didn't move though…because it is Venus and Jupiter !! Go look !

Yes – a lovely sight. I don't know when they will be at closest, or how close they will appear to be, but I will look out for them, clouds permitting.

Several days ago I caught them further apart and in a straight line with the crescent Moon.

Hi Nigel Graham 2, it must have been on Wednesday the 22nd Feb. when you saw them with the crescent moon, as that's when saw them just after I had dropped off my two younger sisters a little after 7.00 pm. My Dashcam did just catch a view of them in the top left hand corner of the frame, and although it's not the best of photos, they can be seen just above the street lamp in the snapshot below.
