I am still having issues saving files in different formats using Turbocad pro platinum but while trying to get round that I am still continuing learning how to draw 3 d objects.

I have been struggling of late trying to extrude a shape formed from a series of arcs and curves (or rather trimmed circles). No matter how many times I try by joining polylines they refuse to do so, sometimes a few will join but not all.

Anybody any clues as to where I am going wrong?

I suspect it is something to do with the properties or a 2D/3D issue but don't know enough to figure which.

I forgot to add that there are also some straight lines in the drawing.

Make sure the lines are in the same plane, if they don't meet in all three axes they won't join.

Manually set the z-co-ordinate the same for every line.

If you drew your item in 2D first, then the lines/arcs 'should' already be on the same workplane. The other thing to check (by zooming in) to each join between the lines and arcs or where two lines meet is that the joins are 'snapped'. Sometimes the gap can be quite small and only detectable by zooming. When you have confirmed there are no gaps, you should be able to Join Polyline. Then, if they are on the same plane, Extrude at leisure.
