Hold a strip of metal against the head stock when you undo the chuck retaining screws so that they push against the metal as you undo them. Do this a little then rotarte chuck and do the next and so on. This will jack the chuck off the spindle nose.

Stick a decent piece of bar in the chuck to pull on……dont forget the obligatory piece of wood on the lathe bed….

You could always warm the chuck with a hot air gun too…..

The register is only about 2.5mm long on a mini lathe, it really shouldn't be possible to jam it on. I assume you have all the nuts off…

Put a bit of wood to protect the bed then tap it with a rubber mallet or a bit of wood and it should fall off – assuming you have undone the nuts.

Just a thought – you do realise its bolted to the flange and the flange is a solid piece with the spindle?
