I have always been fascinated with model steam and after 30 years of dreaming about it I finally have the time to jump in.

Unfortunately there is not a lot of interest in North America compared to the U.K. I look forward to learning from all of your experience and would appreciate any feedback

I am planing on making a Stuart D10 as my first project but I want to get used to the used lathe that I just bought and want to order some small casting trees to start.

Does any one know what diameter steam lines that I need for the D10

      Thank you

Welcome to the Forum Tom. The Stuart 10 series engines are threaded 1/4 x 32 ME but you would be better off using one of the 1/4" x 40 tpi America threads, this explains what fits what and I assume you will be getting the cast fitting trees from the same source.

I don't know what part of the US you are in but Cabin Fever show is only a few weeks away where you will find that model Engineering does have quite a following in the US.

              Welcome Tom!

I'm another newbie, also from North America (Oregon) – where are you located?

I use them as follows – inlet steam line 4mm od (5/32) and outlet 1/4", they dont need to be any bigger and will very happily run on 15psi if just for show. Ive got a video of one running on test here **LINK**

Thank you for the warm welcome and advice.

I think I will be starting with the some fittings and the automatic feed pump along with the Stephensons reversing link to get warmed up. It has been a very long time since I used a lathe and mill.
