Only posting this because this product could be used for model engineering.

      More than ordinary rope

I have no connection with the company and this is not an endorsement of their products.

      Multi Function!!!!

Fantastic! Thanks for that now I can get rid of my store of special single function ropes and free up space for my collection of sporks which became redundant when someone invented specialised separated cutlery so I can avoid contaminating my custard with the taste of my sausages.

Is that also the double ended version?

Yes – but you have to unwind an awful lot of it to reach the other end.

There are ropes made for specific purposes but they do have the advantage that once no longer fit for that Purpose No.1 but are still otherwise serviceable, they become Rope, Purposes Multi-1.

Don't believe a word they say. They are just stringing you along

Reminds me of the story about converting everyone's washing line to metric in an "Open All Hours" episode.

It's money for old rope if you ask me.

If we use rope in a small model, when does it become string ?

Has anyone compared multi purpose rope with general purpose rope? We really need to know which one covers more of our needs wink

It’s like a lot of hot air these days. I recently noted that the old CZ bending system – which was fairly wide ranging in what it could do – has been renamed as “universal’ by the likes of Chronos and possibly others. Virtually the same tool, but an hyped-up description 30 years later!

                                Helpful technical details – not

No material type, working load or breaking load.

                                Certainly not critical purpose rope.

To be fair some of the modern plastic ropes should be marked up for "inside use only" as they suffer badly from UV light degradation. The cheap stuff I used for my second replacement Cover Systems portable garage cover barely lasted a year. Actually the OE stuff wasn't that much better.

I got my CZ bender system fairly soon after they came out, shortly after they dropped the price I think, and that says universal bender on the instructions. That said maybe mine was a knock off, hence the price. Surely its been more like 40 than 30 years that they have been around.
