      Hi, the picture shows the regulator from my 3.5 gauge Columbia. This is the twin popper type and it’s not very controllable. Is there a better option that I can use. ThanksIMG_3492

        From the corrosion, it might be worth stripping and cleaning in case it is sticky and causing the difficulty in control

          Yes, firstly clean and try to get it working.

          Most ‘difficult’ regulators eventually get replaced with ball valves. But you have to work out the construction of a housing body to connect the steam feed, the valve and the rotational input from the regulator shaft.           Alternatively, see whether you can replace the valve seats with PTFE or o-ring inserts – sometimes a good fix to keep the original design.
