Still dont understand why we have two latest reply sections and the one on the right if used doesnt take you to the latest reply but to the first posting, for instance “what did you do today 2024” which will end up with about 35 pages, why not go to page 35 straight away or am I reading this wrong?

Fill in a bug report, its the only way you may get an answer as to why.

But what Bernard is referring to is not actually a bug.

If participants were to send in bug reports about all the things that are ‘wrong’ with the way the forum software works, then the team would have a ‘job for life’.

I would define ‘wrong’ as including bad design, and ‘job for life’ (is my opinion) based on the speed the team have repaired or improved issues previously.

I think that’s ‘just the way it works’. Use the list at the bottom of the page if you want to jump to the ‘last reply’.

Personally, I like a system that jumps to the ‘next unread’ post, but at least this system is usable.

Pleased to hear work is still ongoing.  I am wondering how other users are finding the new site?  I don’t mean some obscure problem that only those with web page construction knowledge understand or worry about, I mean day to day use for mere mortals!

For me the sluggish loading is a nuisance, no dipping in to the forum quickly as I did with the old one to check out threads that interest me.  “Latest replies” not going to the “latest replies”, need to use “new replies”.  An odd (semi) duplication of function?

The washed out appearance of the page is not to my taste but can live with it.

Not all doom and gloom, like the updated spell checker and the ease of inserting images.

John, where did you hear that work is still ongoing, I’ve not seen any recent evidence.

Ian P, read it somewhere, would take too long to find it.

I’ve solved the slow loading by clicking “new replies” and then rapidly selecting ones of interest and right clicking to select “open in new tab” by the time I’ve tabbed 5 or 6 the first one has loaded ready to view

John like you say ‘not all doom and gloom’ but still a pain at times I find the slow loading a pain and to some extent agree with inserting images however when using my Samsung tab 8 I can load a image but no way can I resize it which I can do very easily on my laptop.

Also I would like to see a ‘back to the top’ tab
