Hi, My name is Joe and I live in Northamptonshire, I am hoping to take early retirement shortly and plan to buy myself a mini lathe to satisfy a desire to get into model making which until now I have never really had the spare time to indulge in.

Looking through the bewildering array of mini lathes I think I have come up with a short list of three but I am also open to suggestions. At present I am undecided about either the Warco Super Mini,Conquest lathe super or the Axminster series SC2. I realise that there will be different opinions on this topic but I would like to hear your thoughts, pros and cons on any or all of these machines.

Space is an issue in my workshop so unfortunately I cannot go a great deal larger than the three that I have mentioned.

        Joe

Space is usually the key but also think about just what you want to make. I do not make models but make/repair/restore parts for old motorcycles, that dictates larger machinery. Welcome along and enjoy the board and the new hobby.
