Hi everyone

Sixty years old and just retired so finding more time for model engineering. Was fortunate enough to be the son of a model engineer and since Dad died even managed to get an article in the hallowed pages of ME. He would have been very proud.

I'm fairly well equipped with machinery and use 2D cad and laser cutting services. 3D skill is poor as yet. Currently building a 7 1/4" gauge Baldwin Gas Mechanical loco at 3.26" to the foot. Today I have despatched the drawings of the cab components for laser cutting.

Hi Neil.

Yes it was the result of buying a diesel engine – which won't actually fit! The Ffestiniog have Moelwyn which is a molested version of the original, my prototype live in APPEVA's museum in Northern France. This is the rascal. **LINK**

Well the 3D skills have improved over the last year or so – had a lot of models wax printed and cast in New Zealand. Not a particularly cheap process but delighted with the end results.
