      Just discovered the ICS has all its publications online.

      Inter alia:

      The TC section has lots of machining and electricity-related stuff.

      The BB section seems to have a lot on locomotive valve gear.

          I can recommend this as a useful browsing opportunity. I have several of the original 1907 books, and the text is sensibly clear, and the illustrations are magnificent.
