          Hi There
          I never use oil.
Have always cleaned with lighter fuel.
          regards David

Is that the stuff for refilling a cigarette lighter or for starting barbeques?

              Hi There
              Ronson Cigarette lighter fluid.
I think it is basically petrol.
              regards David

Lighter fuel is basically very clean petrol, also known up here in ‘straya as Shellite which is available from the local hardware store for a much lower cost than lighter fuel.  Another alternative for instrument cleaning is Iso Propyl Alcohol (IPA).
Try and get some instructions from somewhere before bogging in and dismantling ANY sort of instrument, please don’t ask me how I know!!
                Best of luck.
                cheers

                  Hi There
                  I don’t dismantle.
Squirt it down any available hole, move the operating lever or plunger until free then wait for it to evaporate.
                  Job done.
                  regards david
