Rudy Kouhoupt DVDs are clearly designed for novices such as me.  Has anyone viewed the lathe work and milling programmes?  Are they worth the money?  Are there alternatives available, e.g. on the web?  Is the information covered in a better fashion in a book?  Title?
Any information however meagre gratefully received.  Thank you.

Before you pay out hard earned dosh, have a look at the videos on this site from the USA.

This was brought to our attention by Keithmart.

If you click on a chosen Machine Shop icon, and scroll up a bit, you will see a list of contents in the lower left screen, saves you waiting for the vid to start before you decide to watch or not.  They take a while to get to the “meat”.

If you still feel the need to know about Rudy Kouhoupt DVDs, send me a message. (But I don’t check them every day)

I have rented many of them from smartflix here in the states. For $10.00 rental each they are good, not sure if you can rent them from accost the pond or not. Not something I refer back too enough to justify buying them. I have the 2 shaper DVD’s here to view next.

              Hi Dale,

I have just watched the 2 shaper DVDs, and they are good if you’ve never used a shaper.
You’re lucky to be able to rent them, not availble here in UK, and the price is around UK£27 – ouch!

The only problem I have with them is what with Rudy’s slow delivery, and the rhythmic sound of the shaper, I tended to fall asleep! (I was watching them in bed though).

I have watched quite a few of Rudy’s videos and thoroughly enjoyed them but at £28 a throw to buy in the UK they aren’t among the cheapest…

I am looking for the following if anyone has them:

                Fundamentals of Milling Machine

                Advanced Milling machine

                6 Projects for the Shaper

                How to cut spur gears

                Paul
