Hi
I’ve just purchased a GLANZE 6MM BORING TOOL and Its the first time i have used an indexable tipped tool. This bar is round in cross section and has two flats on it, which I thought was to make sure it is held in the toolpost to give the correct cutting angle. When mounted the the tip insert is angled downwards at about 15 degrees. This is totaly alien to my understanding of the correct rake angle.
Am I mounting this wrongly?
On my Myford the Quick change tool post holder for boring has a Vee in it. Is this bar made to sit in that? My Quick change tool holder on my Cowells lathe has no Vee so it would be very difficult to set the tool at anything other angle.
I have looked at the Glanze web site and this really has no help. I would appreciate any help.
Thanks
Bob
