I would be grateful if anyone knows if Model Engineer ever serialized the build of Harrison's Sea Clock. I saw a model that was built and in operation on Youtube and it was suggested that the plans he used originated here.

If anyone has any idea if or where a build has been documented in the past it would be appreciated.

              Best regards,

              terry

Terry the index mentioned in the post above yours gives the result that the article was in Vol 193 from 2004 and issues 4235,4237, 4239, 4241 and 4243.

Hi Terry, I don't know where you are, no profile, but if you are ever in London visit the Greenwich Observatory and you will see all of the originals working. We'll worth a visit.

Thank you John and Jason for taking the time answer my email.

I am in Toronto but would dearly love to visit Greenwich and see these clocks for myself.

It appears that the plans for the Pratt clock can be found in the Model Engineer series beginning in 2004, and if I purchase issues 4235,4237, 4239, 4241 and 4243 I will then have a complete set of plans. I assume that if I purchase an electronic subscription to the publication I can then download and print them.

Again, thank you for you response.

                    Best regards,

Before you part with your cash I have just had a flick through the issues, they are only a description of the build with lots of photos. Looks like the main details came from Cambridge University who have drawings that were made when the original clock was restored.
