        Hi

i am looking for any help or advice that anyone can give me. I normally put up a display every Christmas for a local charity. I have some old animatronic figures and want to make new bodies and movements underneath. I have details of the motor used and pictures of the working mechanics which I can send. It was just to know where I can get the pieces from to make this and what they are called. Any advice would be more than welcome. The motor is a Stemshire type 10fcc38f part no. St830 and it is 10 rpm continuous.

Photos of the motor and any mechanical parts your looking for will be usefull

the motor could be a generic part sold under sveral part numbers

since you have not indicated what supply voltage the motor requires

have a look at **LINK** for lowvoltage DC motors and gearboxes

or if its mains powered something like this synchronous motor and gearbox is closer ?

If cost is not an issue MFA make some kits of various parts (axles, gears, motors etc.) often used by schools for projects and of good quality. I think CPC can supply.

                      Hi John,

The limited editing time is to stop posts being retrospectively altered, and is built in to the system for all MTM websites, so it can't be changed.

Moderators can edit posts, but for obvious reasons we aren't going to start correcting typos etc.

                        Hi Neil

I know its out of your hands but

Its all a question of balance

for non typists like me a longer time to correct typo's will always be use full

but I can also see the timeout needs to take into account of any later reply

so the sense of the thread is not lost

as can also happen when externally hosted pictures go missing

(my experience indicates system administrators the default position is not to trust the users and limit what they can do )

                        Keep up the good work

I for one will be waiting to see your Best of 25 Yeares of MEW next summer

                        John

                          Hi John,

Some folks compose their postings in word and use the icon of a clipboard with a 'W' on it to post into the editor.

This makes it easier to spellcheck and I think the process of copying across helps some reflect and decide if they want to do any editing.

                          Neil
