      The old cresta engine is this way round but oil filter /lift pump and distributor are displaced.

        And the Cresta 3.3 was a deep skirt design (I think) which this appears to be

          The block looks to have been cast in 1962, when there were many suppliers of castings.

          The casting insignia does not look like a Ford casting. I am sure that at one time Perkins bought castings from this foundry, but memory fails to register who it was.  Probably not Beans or Triplex.

          Perkins only received block castings from Ford when making the F3 for them.

          So might have been an engine for a Vauxhall Velox or Cresta.

          Any ideas, anyone?
