I feel like an outcast!

The thread I started about MEW346 went well off track and I see it has now been closed by a moderator.

If I click on the (almost unreadable pale grey text on pink background) bar in latest replies, I get this sentence at the end of the thread;

This topic is marked as closed to new replies, however your posting capabilities still allow you to reply.

Is that only visible to the thread initiator?

I did write a reply and clicked ‘submit’ but nothing happened, in the sense my reply seems to have disappeared.

… I can only say that I think Topic was closed for good reason, and presumably because of the nonsense that was produced towards the end.

It should probably not show that message for normal (and even outcast) members. As a moderator I can still post in a closed thread. Yes I closed it before it got too out of hand.

I don’t know how I missed that thread when you first posted as I start a session with “new replies”. Maybe that day was so busy it had gone off the bottom already. It was helpful when bumped as it prompted me to go and read the article as I had whizzed past it on initial check of the issue, then as I posted I went to look at my own mill nut situation.
