The only Bridgeport I've seen in an 1930's side garage had a hole cut in the ceiling for the head.

I Genuinely cannot recommend Steve @ Landylift enough. Absolute GEM of a person!!

I laid the pallets down to cover the step up to the container then whacked a 4mm sheet of hot rolled steel sheet over the top of them and into the container, Steve was able to reverse right up to it and could drop the mill on to round bar rollers, from there we inched it along and in to place. FAR FAR FAR easier than I expected it to be and Steve helped the whole way to its final position. we moved it from his truck bed to it's forever home within an hour.

Seriously. If you need anything moving, he is your man.

When I moved by BP, I rented a drop deck trailer. I used a small electric winch to skid the machine onto and off of the trailer. Actually I moved my entire shop, including 3 lathes using that trailer. The largest lathe was 16" x 40"
