Home Made Steam Driven Trip Hammer doing some work flattening out 1.5mm and 3mm thick wire solder.

This is fun steam driven accessory to use, a bit hard on the ears though!

An extravagant way of flattening a bit of solder

… but a wonderful demonstration of the principle yes

Hi, it's good to see an engine actually doing some work rather than spinning around on it's own in fresh air. Yes a very good demonstration.

              Regards Nick.

Hi Rob I saw that too, I think it was seeing the rear hammer behind the front hammer and then the shutter speed (60fps) playing some optical illusion trick?

Blue Heeler , Like others before me , I also like your work . I wonder if you may now be interested in obtaining information on the trip hammers at Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet in Sheffield, and also at Wortley Top Forge near Sheffield , with a view to producing working models ?

                      Trevor.

G'day Trevor , not sure about my skill level but I would be interested in seeing these trip hammers. Do you have a link or some photos?

                        Cheers,
                        Jim
