They would want to see the external armaments fitted. Laser pointers to blind pilots and wave skimming protection guns etc. Look at the difference in design between Russki and Western designs, The quality of work is totally different and the reliability is much better than the Russki's.

Re the propulsion, The power pods are 360 deg operation and on ice breakers the ship can go in reverse to go through the ice pack, my Sons Company run such ships on oil and gas search and work in the ice. Some of the video I have seen is remarkable. The power pods can be exchanged quite easily in dry dock and they have no long prop shafts. Quoted today, 'It drives like a sports car'

        .

Nice one Neil unless someone wants to write you an article about making a soapbox with a bit of metal content.

I still think at least one of them should have had a catapult, just in case

Yes, I just read about the lack of a catapult. It means the only likely aircraft to fly from it is the F35 and we can't afford to buy enough of those apparently. It also can't launch larger fixed wing aircraft for AWACS duty without a catapult. It sounds like too many cost cutting exercises were made on the project as usual. Looks good though.

I always wondered about some one naming something after a person, remember the Edsel?

The car with the rudest radiator grille in history?

No doubt Prince Albert and Amelia Bloomer would both agree!
