Said in the paper the Russki's are very interested in the ship! no doubt if they leave on the night low tide the Russki's cannot get a picture! I wonder where they got all the Matelot's from? I understand that they only have about 5 jets here so far?
She floated out of the dock earlier this afternoon on the (almost) high tide – I watched some of the process live on Shipfinder. It'll need the low tide tonight to fit under the Forth bridges.
I suspect they will fit Meteor to the J35 eventually, so for any enemy aircraft to be in visual range would mean a catastrophe has happened to the air cover and the carrier could then be considered a soft target and sinkable by anything bigger than a pistol.
More the magic roundabout. UK pays itself to build an aircraft carrier. More helpful than quantitive easing in that real people get paid for doing real jobsand then spend their money locally and even pay some of it back to the governmant in tax. OK I do realise that some of the equipment will have been imported but it's still a sizeable amount ploughed back into the economy.
